About the event
Conjuring the Caribbean is an immersive colloquium taking place January 26–29 in the Gonda Theatre. This week-long immersion—bringing together students, faculty, and guest artists—is designed to encourage scholarship and creative activity centered on Caribbean history, culture, and politics.
We are thrilled to be joined by two guest artists: scenic designer Shartoya Jn Baptiste and performance artist Micole Murray, who will collaborate to create an immersive Caribbean landscape in the Davis Performing Arts Center. Their work will be in conversation with the public throughout the week.
